To become a merchant in the United States, you need to have certifications. Some of them are mandatory, you have to register with the FDA. The Food and Drug Administration. The FDA is the entity in charge of regulating the entry of food products, and it has a share in the flow of exports since long before the product is shipped. If they do not have this certification, the product will be retained and, depending on the case, changes may be made in a way that they have to comply with the regulations and they can destroy or re-export the merchandise at the discretion of the FDA. On the other hand, there are voluntary certifications, such as USDA organic, fair trade, kosher, among others.
